Marine Grade Outdoor and Wet environments require specialist LCD screens.

LCD Division: Marine Grade LCD products are perfect for the marine industry and environments where water and moisture are prevalent. ICE AV offers a range of IP65 and IP66 rated LCD screens for military, marine, yachting and wet production environments.

With IP66 Full Stainless, it provides complete protection against outside contact with internal electronic or electrical components, protection against harmful deposits of dust, and strong water jets being squirted from any direction against the enclosure. Available in sizes from 5.7” to 65” for Chassis Stainless enclosure.

ICE offers two categories of products in this category.
Marine Models and Stainless Steel Enclosures.
As each model is manufactured to order allows us to configure the screen exactly as required such as with and without touch capability, inputs, audio and internal computer.

A point to note is that marine and wet environments LCD screens are categorised with IP65 / IP66 rating for just the front or for the entire LCD enclosure. When you are evaluating your requirements consider whether the IP category rating is just for the front or for the all sides of the enclosure. The next aspect is the mounting and fitting style. We offer a wide variety of installation types including panel, open frame, chassis, rack and external etc. Along with the customisation of 5 touch technologies, signal inputs and built-in computer options means there are 100’s of options, all of which are offered as a standard product and built specifically for your requirements. If you do require pricing we really need to identify the range of and selected options you need.

The important aspect for Marine and IP65 / IP66 rated LCD enclosures is the Stainless Steel or Aluminium construction. To provide flexibility and customisation ICE offers two options in stainless steel.

For standard stainless enclosure screens we use Grade 304. Grade 304 is the most widely used stainless steel, however in a harsh environment like a high chloride environment, Grade 304 will still rust. Grade 316 is the recommended solution to have better corrosion resistant in the harsh environments. If your application environment is swimming pool, sea shore or anywhere there is high chloride environment or salty environment, you should adopt Grade 316.
Either you adopt Grade 304 or Grade 316, a routine cleaning & maintenance is required to keep the stainless surface in good condition. A stainless steel cleaner & polish is recommended to apply.

Brief introduction to Grade 304 & 316 Stainless Steel.
Stainless steel Grade 304
Grade 304 is the most versatile and widely used stainless steel. Grade 304 stainless steel is an austenitic grade that can be severely deep drawn. This property has resulted in 304 being the dominant grade used in applications like sinks and saucepans. Sometimes this grade is called by its old name 18/8 which is derived from the nominal composition of Grade 304 being 18% chromium and 8% nickel.

Stainless steel Grade 316
Grade 316 is the standard molybdenum-bearing grade, second in importance to 304 amongst the austenitic stainless steels. It has excellent forming and welding characteristics. It is readily brake or roll formed into a variety of parts for applications in the industrial, architectural, and transportation fields. The molybdenum gives 316 better overall corrosion resistant properties than Grade 304, particularly higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. Grade 316 also has outstanding welding characteristics. Post-weld annealing is not required when welding thin sections.
